A Review of the Hoover WindTunnel T-Series Rewind Upright Vacuum
The Hoover WindTunnel T-Series Rewind Upright Vacuum is a lightweight upright vacuum cleaner that features WindTunnel Technology, which will supposedly ensure the unit never loses suction power. Before we look at whether or not it’s the best vacuum cleaner on the market, let’s take a closer look at its features.
The Hoover WindTunnel’s Features
According to the website, this vacuum cleaner is light weight, has five position height adjustments, a nozzle that’s 13.5 inches wide and has a bumper to avoid scuff marks. It has a cord that’s 27 feet long and a filter that can easily be cleaned as all it needs is a good rinse. Then there’s a HEPA filter to make sure the air is nice and clean. In other words, you won’t be choking on dust it’s evacuating, as often happens with other types of vacuum cleaners.
You don’t have to worry about not being able to use it in narrow spaces or on the stairs because it comes with an in-built hose and an extension wand. The crevice tool ensures you can get into those tight spaces and corners, while the upholstery and dusting brush will help you clean the furniture without too much of a fuss. There’s also a powered hand tool.
The Hoover T-Series might not be the most attractive vacuum cleaner in the store, but if you’re after a pretty vacuum, then you’ll have to be prepared to pay a lot more than the less than a $100 price tag this unit comes with. The important part, though, is that it’s designed to clean effectively and efficiently.
The vacuum is designed around multi-cyclonic cleaning core technology, meaning that it won’t lose suction power, regardless of how long you use it. While this might seem impossible, or at least too good to be true, I did take my time to research this unit in-depth and found quite a few people who owned Hoovers claiming that they had them for nearly a decade and the units worked just as well as they did the first day. Of course, they didn’t have the latest technology, so I’m pretty sure that this Hoover will deliver on its promise.
The cleaning head is also based on Hoover’s proprietary—and patented—technology featuring multiple channels and the WindTunnel technology. This all sounds so futuristic and complex that you might be wondering what it all means. Well, in a nutshell, this Hoover can pick up anything and will clean your house just as well ten years down the line as it will today.
The unit comes with a retractable cord and the mechanism is foot-activated. In other words, you step on the pedal and the cord winds up in seconds. We’ll talk more about this a little later.
As already mentioned, it comes with a stretch hose that’s 8 feet long and has a wide range of attachments, ensuring you can get into every nook and cranny.
Is the Hoover WindTunnel T-Series the Best Vacuum Cleaner?
I’ve mentioned before that I’m not a fan of upright vacuum cleaners, but I have to try to be objective. So, I gave the Hoover a whirl, and I must say I was impressed. It really does have the power to pick up practically anything.
Another aspect that convinced me to give it a go was the great reputation Hoover has. And I’m not talking about their marketing materials. I read so many reviews from people stating they’ve had Hoovers for more than ten years and they still worked great, and that they’d never choose another brand.
You might be wondering why these people would be looking for a new vacuum cleaner if their old one was the best vacuum cleaner they’d ever used. In most cases it was simply a matter of wear and tear, and after ten years, it’s not a surprise. In fact, I’ve had more vacuum cleaners than I can count that lasted less than a year, so I’m impressed with anything that can last more than that.
And the Hoover comes with a two year warranty out of the gate, so if something does happen within that period, they’ll replace it. However, based on the reviews I’ve read, it’s unlikely to give up on you so soon. In fact, you’re more likely to end up wanting to replace it just because there’s a new model with more advanced technology rather than because it broke down.
I tried the Hoover on a wide range of surfaces and I loved how easily it picked up pet hair off the floors and the furniture. It’s not rough on the furniture at all, because you can turn the power down when you are cleaning something delicate. Then just turn the power up and it will suck up pet hair, dust and any other foreign matter quite easily, without ever blowing it around and creating more of a mess, which has happened to me often enough with other vacuum cleaners. And it really picks up dirt. I thought my house was clean when I used it the first time but it picked up so much more dirt that it shocked me.
It’s not heavy at all, either, which was one thing I was worried about when I first saw it. In fact, for the size, it’s quite light and easy to maneuver. It will get into corners and also picks up dirt along wall edges easily. It does such a good job that I only really use the hand tools when I’m trying to get between furniture or on the furniture.
So, is it really the best vacuum cleaner? It all depends on what your favorite type of vacuum is. The only complaints I’ve had with it is that emptying it can be a messy job, but I take the canister outside and that’s not such an issue anymore. And it saves me having to buy replacement bags, which not only means spending less money but it’s also more environmentally friendly.
My conclusion is that you can’t get a better vacuum cleaner for under $100 than this Hoover WindTunnel T-Series Rewind Upright Vacuum. It’s certainly the best vacuum cleaner for the price and is definitely a great unit for anyone who has pets.
